Serbian Minister of Education Zoran Loncar said today that the key subject of new Kosovo talks should be the definition of position of the Albanian national minority in the province.
In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Loncar said that there is no such thing as the problem of Kosovo-Metohija, because the province is an integral and unalienable part of Serbia, but only an open issue concerning the right level of autonomy for the Albanian national minority.
He added that Serbia is ready to discuss substantial autonomy, which means that in line with democratic principles, it will guarantee that ethnic Albanians may realise all of their legitimate interests in the province.
No national minority in Europe has the right to secession; therefore it is unacceptable for Serbia to have the Albanian national minority creating another Albanian state on Serbia’s territory, stressed Loncar and added that one Albania on the Balkans is quite enough.
